AGR expanding consultancy division through acquisition

Feb. 14, 2025
AGR has entered an agreement to acquire Norwegian technical staffing consultancy Techconsult.

AGR, an ABL Group company, has entered an agreement to acquire Norwegian technical staffing consultancy Techconsult.

Upon completion of the transaction, Techconsult would be merged into the Norway branch of AGR Consultancy.

The joint business offers specialist support for the oil and gas and renewable energy industries, including digitalization of operations.

Techconsult, formed in 1999, has offices in Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger, and more than 200 consultants. Clients can also access a database of about 14,000 technical and engineering professionals.

The combined company would have a database of 26,000 technical professionals, capable of supporting more clients and in more geographical regions and industry segments, AGR said.

Ronny Meyer will continue to lead the Techconsult recruitment support team following the merger, which should complete by mid-year, subject to approval by the Norwegian competition authority.

Late last year, ABL Group entered into an agreement to acquire Rio de Janeiro-based Proper Marine, a naval architecture and engineering consultancy. The intention is to merge the company with ABL’s design and engineering division, Longitude, expanding the group’s capabilities in design and engineering for offshore energy and maritime construction and operations.
