TotalEnergies has completed its acquisition of the 100% interests held by OMV (50%) and Sapura Upstream Assets (50%) in Malaysian gas producer SapuraOMV Upstream, according to a Dec. 10 TotalEnergies press release.
SapuraOMV’s main assets are operated interests in two blocks offshore Sarawak, SK408 and SK310.
This year the combined operated gas production, supported by supplies from the recently onstream Jerun field in July, should reach about 590 MMcf/d (delivered to the Petronas-operated Bintulu LNG complex) and 10,000 bbl/d of condensates.
Following the acquisition, TotalEnergies now employs about 300 staff in Malaysia. Its other upstream interests are 40% of Block SB412 offshore Sabah, 34.9% in blocks SB-2K and SB-N, and 85% in Block DW2E.
