CSA supplies mobile lab for Chevron studies offshore Israel

April 5, 2025
CSA Ocean Sciences has delivered a newly designed and fabricated mobile science laboratory for Chevron Mediterranean Ltd.

CSA Ocean Sciences has delivered a newly designed and fabricated mobile science laboratory for Chevron Mediterranean Ltd. (CML).

The container-based laboratory is designed to support CML’s offshore marine environmental monitoring and preparedness, and it is operating offshore Israel.

The design of the structure is said to enable swift mobilization and installation on any vessel, including emergency response deployments. The laboratory is fully ventilated, has electricity and running water, and is equipped with all scientific equipment needed for water and sediment collection and processing, with storage space for chemical samples.

CSA says it has managed numerous environmental programs for CML in the region over the past 15 years. The feedback gained helped shape the design of a modular workspace that can be adapted for different types of surveys.

In addition, the laboratory was outfitted to operate in the high heat and humidity often encountered in the Eastern Mediterranean.
