Beach Energy has completed installation and pressure testing of the Thylacine West flowline in the Otway Basin offshore southeast Australia, and it expects first gas by the end of this month.
The Thylacine West 1 and 2 wells should deliver increased production for the Otway Gas Plant to service demand on the country’s East Coast.
Startup will mark completion of the largest offshore drilling and development program to date in the basin, Beach added.
The company is also progressing planning, contracting and regulatory approvals for its next phase of activity offshore Victoria. Beach said it is focused on gas exploration prospects of material scale (more than 100 Bcf).
