Compression stabilizes gas production from Kipper field offshore Australia

Esso Australia says that it has completed the Kipper Compression Project.

Esso Australia, as operator of the Gippsland Basin Joint Venture offshore south-east Australia, reports that it has completed the Kipper Compression Project.

This is designed to sustain gas supplies to the local domestic market.

Work involved installation of compression facilities on the West Tuna platform in the Bass Strait to maintain production from the Kipper field, where reservoir pressure has dropped due to gradual depletion.
