Petrobras has contracted Allseas to design, procure, construct and install subsea infrastructure serving the ultra-deepwater Búzios-10 pre-salt field development, 180 km offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
For the offshore campaign starting in Q3 2026, the pipelay vessel Audacia will lay 111 km of rigid risers and flowlines in water depths beyond 2 km.
The subsea network will connect 16 wells to the FPSO via steel catenary risers (SCRs) in a ‘lazy wave’ formation. Audacia will also install flex-joints, pipeline end terminations, and jumpers to complete the connections.
To support the program, the company has opened a new project management and engineering office in Rio. It is currently awarding sub-contracts for seamless linepipe manufacture, internal cladding, and flexible joints for the SCRs.
Búzios-10 will be Allseas’ first construction project offshore Brazil since installing the export pipelines for Petrobras’ Rota 1, Rota 2, and Rota 3 pre-salt developments.
To support local labor content requirements, the project will generate 2,000 jobs and help consolidate Brazil’s offshore supply chain.
