Santos is sticking with its estimate of third-quarter 2025 for first gas from the Barossa LNG development in the Timor Sea offshore northwest Australia.

At present, the project is 95.2% complete, with all offshore pipelines connecting the Barossa gas field to the onshore Darwin LNG plant installed.

The company reported more than 88% completion by year-end 2024.

Four wells have been drilled and completed, a fifth well is suspended for completion at a later date, and drilling is underway on the sixth well.

Within the next few days, work should finish on the second installation campaign for the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines.

All other work programs are on track to support the first gas date, Santos added.
