The Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition (OME) – the only conference dedicated exclusively to offshore Middle East oil and gas exploration and production – returns to Qatar this year on Oct. 12-14 at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre in Doha.
OME, now in its third year, focuses on the challenges and solutions of the offshore Middle East exploration and production industry. The event addresses technological innovation with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, production optimization, and cost control.
The Middle East offshore region in general and Qatar in particular will see significant growth in natural gas production as operators fill increasing LNG throughput to serve regional consumption and exporting demand. Qatar, with 15% of total world natural gas reserves, has emerged as the world’s largest LNG producer. At the same time, with the Middle East holding 61% of the world’s oil and 41.3% of gas reserves, the organizers of OME decided to fill the need for a dedicated offshore exploration and production event exclusively serving that region of the world.
OME is hosted by Qatar Petroleum and supported by the Qatar Society of Engineers. Sponsors include Shell, ABS and Penspen. PennWell’s Offshore Group is the official media sponsor.
Keynote speakers
Offshore Middle East will open with keynote speeches from H.E. Abullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah and a welcoming address from Mubarak Al-Hajri, Offshore Operations Manager for Qatar Petroleum, and Chairman of OME 2010.
