Saipem has confirmed that its Castorone construction vessel has completed all trunkline installation activities for the Woodside-operated Scarborough gas field development offshore Western Australia.
The trunkline will take production from the field in the Carnarvon Basin offshore to the onshore Pluto LNG complex.
Over a roughly 12-month period, Saipem laid 433 km of pipeline and more than 36,000 lengths of pipe in water depths of up to 1,400 m.
Pre-commissioning activities will now start for the trunkline ahead of hookup of the subsea infrastructure to the onshore terminal.
Woodside awarded Saipem the work in 2022, encompassing laying, transport and coating of the trunkline.
