ULSTEINVIK, Norway — Equinor has contracted Island Offshore’s light well intervention (LWI) vessel Island Wellserver for two years of operations on fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Island Offshore’s co-operation partner TIOS AS arranged the contract, which applies for 290 days in each of 2024 and 2025, plus extension options.
The Island Wellserver performs intervention on subsea wells to stimulate, increase or log production, in collaboration with TechnipFMC, Altus and Oceaneering on delivering this service.
“We have a similar arrangement for Island Constructor but with different operators in Norway and internationally…,” said Island Offshore managing director Tommy Walaune. "We expect more than 600 days a year for these vessels on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. In addition, Island Constructor has approvals to work internationally."
The full work scope comprises installing an underwater restricted catenary mooring system, an "as built" survey, flexible riser installation, and pipeline end manifold, spool and umbilical installation using an HLS lay spread on board.
In the second half of 2024, Island Victory will return to the US Gulf of Mexico to help customer Subsea7 with installation of a mooring spread for the unnamed floating production and storage system and associated underwater construction work in ultradeep water.
The program has a firm period of 120 days plus options.
