DELFZIJL, the Netherlands — Wagenborg Offshore will convert a PX121 platform supply vessel (PSV) to a multipurpose offshore vessel at the Royal Niestern Sander shipyard in Delfzijl.
The upgrades include an additional accommodation module to house 20 personnel and installation of an active heave-compensated crane.
The ship will have an emergency response and rescue vessel class C notation, allowing it to undertake emergency response and rescue duties.
Royal Wagenborg expects to stage a naming ceremony around mid-2023, after which the vessel will start operations in the southern North Sea.
