Petrobras has started the procurement process for two new FPSOs for its Sergipe Deep Waters Project (SEAP) in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin offshore Brazil.
These will be awarded under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, with the contractor responsible for the design, construction, assembly and operation of each platform for an initial period. Thereafter, Petrobras will assume operatorship.
The process will involve bids for one (firm) FPSO for SEAP 2, due to start operations in 2030, with an option to acquire a second, similar FPSO for SEAP 1.
Both platforms will be equipped to process 120,000 bbl/d of oil and up to 12 MMcm/d of gas, with the gas to be exported for sale without the need for onshore treatment.
Petrobras says the new procurement approach is designed to assist the financing process and to enable production from new projects to start as quickly as possible.
SEAP 1 covers reservoirs at the Agulhinha, Agulhinha Oeste, Cavala and Palombeta fields in the BM-SEAL-10 and BM-SEAL-11 offshore concessions.
For SEAP 2, the reservoirs are at the Budião, Budião Noroeste and Budião Sudeste fields in BM-SEAL-4, BM-SEAL-4A and BM-SEAL-10.
