Wagenborg boosts North Sea support vessel fleet

Wagenborg has taken into service its third offshore walk to work vessel.

DELFZIJL, the NetherlandsWagenborg has taken into service its third offshore walk to work (WTW) vessel.

The DP-2 Keizersborg, designed by Wärtsilä and built by Wuhu Shipyard in China as a platform supply vessel, was converted in 16 weeks at the Royal Niestern Sander shipyard and fitted with an extra accommodation module and motion compensated gangway.

It can now be used to support inspection and maintenance of unmmaned platforms in the southern North Sea.

The Keizersborg can also be deployed in emergency situations at platforms for rescue work, standby activities, emergency towing, or patrol tasks.

Onboard facilities include an infirmary, a decontamination room, a recovery room, and extra sanitary facilities.
