WALSALL, UK – Hydratight and Norwegian company Connector Subsea Solutions have completed a deepwater pipeline repair offshore Western Australia.
A 4-in. MEG line in 830 m (2,723 ft) water depth, pressure-rated up to 400 bar (5,801 psi), was in urgent need of repair. A team from the two contractors designed, manufactured, and installed a diverless structural deepwater pipeline repair clamp for the project.
Prior to installation of the clamp, they also prepared the pipe using a new ROV-deployed coating removal tool.
The clamp was designed to operate without the need for bolt tensioning. All activation technologies and hydraulics are in an external installation tool, removed on completion.
