BASINGSTOKE, UK – Aquatec Group has detailed its response to a recent subsea engineering task requested by an unnamed North Sea operator.

The company engineered ROV-deployable magnetic mounts within 10 days to allow two of its AQUAlogger 310 oceanographic pressure and temperature data loggers to be mounted directly onto subsea cross braces on a platform at two separate depths.

Both pre-programmed instruments needed a simple magnetic actuation prior to deployment subsea in order to trigger logging.  A ‘shake-to-show’ feature allows the user to confirm that the instruments are logging prior to deployment via an LED indication.

The loggers are currently recording wave-induced pressure variations to inform imminent dive operations that will be conducted using new dive equipment.

Once logging has finished, Aquatec’s team will download and report on the data following recovery of the instruments.
