Equinor continues to progress the deepwater Rosebank oil and gas project west of Shetland, according to partner Ithaca Energy's latest results update.
An extensive subsea campaign has been completed with all nine subsea structures installed ahead of schedule. Equinor continues to maintain the schedule to estimated first oil in 2026/27, despite the current UK High Court challenge against Rosebank and Shell’s Jackdaw gas project in the North Sea, brought by Greenpeace and Uplift.
At Ithaca’s operated Captain heavy oil field in the central UK North Sea, a new two-year topside drilling campaign started this summer, with plans for three new production wells, an injector well and two well workovers.
Elsewhere in the sector, Ithaca completed the W1 well workover at the Erskine field, reinstating the fifth production well.
