SINGAPORE — Strategic Marine has delivered a new 40-man aluminum fast crew boat (FCB) to Blue Petra in Malaysia, a subsidiary of Great Ocean Supply & Services.
Great Ocean is a licensed Petronas contractor and provides support for offshore oil and gas operations in Malaysian waters.
Blue Petra 1, a Generation 3 FCB, features three Caterpillar C32 engines, with station-keeping and maneuvering assisted by a tunnel thruster mounted at the bow.
Other features include a remotely controlled water monitor with a capacity of 1,200 cu m per hour for fire-fighting roles and safety standby duties.
The FCB has 16 berths in seven cabins, a cargo area of 120 sq m and a deck strength of 2 t/sq m.
