HARLINGEN, the NetherlandsSeaZip Offshore Service plans to double the passenger capacity of four of its crew transfer vessels for offshore oil and gas and wind projects from 12 PAX to 24 PAX.

SeaZip 3 to 6, built by Damen Shipyards, have operated since 2015/2016.

SeaZip Offshore Service managing/owner Jan Reier Arends said: “We see an increasing demand for flexible and cost-efficient transport solutions for both smaller maintenance teams and larger groups of technicians.

“Groups of 16 to 20 people are the rule rather than the exception…By reducing the number of shifts, we also reduce the total emissions.”

Next Generation Shipyards in Lauwersoog will perform the upgrades, expanding the passenger compartments and installing air conditioning and ventilation facilities.
