COPENHAGEN, Denmark— The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has made available the environmental impact report for INEOS E&P’s plan for development and operation of the Hejre Field in the Danish North Sea.
Interested parties can submit comments between now and Sept. 1.
INEOS applied for permission to develop and operate Hejre, a high-temperature oil field with associated gas, late last year. The location is 300 km west of the Danish west coast in license 05/98.
The plans call for construction and installation of an unmanned topside on the existing Hejre foundation; laying of a 30-km subsea pipeline to the South Arne field center and installation of a power cable of a similar length from South Arne to Hejre; and potentially drilling an additional well from the Hejre platform.
The DEA is the environmental authority for the project.
Aside from the environmental impact report, INEOS has prepared an Espoo report covering cross-border environmental impacts that may arise from the project in Denmark.
Hejre’s oil is contained in a sandstone reservoir at a subsurface depth of more than 5,000 m with a temperature at about 160 C.
It should become operational from 2027, producing 25,000 bbl/d of oil at peak.
