RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Environmental agency IBAMA has issued the operational license for the Ubarana, Ubarana Oeste and Cioba fields in the Potiguar Basin in Rio de Norte state to 3R Potiguar.
The license was a precedent condition for Petrobras closing the transaction.
The fields are part of the Potiguar Cluster, which in turn comprises three sub-clusters (Canto do Amaro, Alto do Rodrigues and Ubarana), encompassing a total of 22 fields, with three offshore and 19 onshore concessions.
The Ubarana subcluster concessions are in shallow water, 10-22 km from the city of Guamaré.
There is access to infrastructure for processing, refining, logistics, storage, transportation and offloading of oil and gas.
