Petrobras has discovered hydrocarbons in the Aram Block in the presalt Santos Basin offshore Brazil.
Drilling continues on well 4-BRSA-1395-SPS, 245 km from the city of Santos-SP in 1,759 m water depth. A combination of wireline logs, gas shows and fluid sampling confirmed the hydrocarbon-bearing interval, with follow-up laboratory analysis planned to inform the next exploratory activities in the area.
Petrobras and partner CNPC were awarded the block in March 2020 under the ANP’s 6th bidding round, with Pré-Sal Petróleo as manager of the production sharing contract.
