STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Lundin Norway has agreed to farm out 30% of a license in the central Norwegian North Sea to Explora Petroleum.
Assuming approval from the Norwegian authorities, Lundin will retain a 40% operating interest in PL544.
This is Stavanger-based Explora’s first license deal. CEO John Pickard said a well would be drilled on the concession next year, adjacent to Statoil’s Sleipner infrastructure, and close to major discoveries in theJohan Sverdrup area.
