WEST PERTH, Australia – Independent technical advisor DeGolyer and MacNaughton has completed its report into recoverable oil in the Apache-operated Phoenix 3D area offshore Western Australia.
According to Apache’s partner Carnarvon Petroleum, recoverable oil ranges between 48 and 232 MMbbl, based on results from last year’sPhoenix South oil discovery and an assessment of the Roc prospect, due to be drilled later this year.
The partnership continues its work on the Phoenix South-1 well data and data from other wells drilled previously in the permit. The focus is on reservoir development and quality, the type and potential source of the oils discovered, and determining where the same results may occur elsewhere in the blocks.
