LONDON – Premier Oil expects to deliver first oil next month from Chim Sao project off southern Vietnam.
On July 1, the FPSO moved from the Keppel yard to its offshore anchorage. Deep water commissioning and trials have been completed, and the vessel is on tow to the Chim Sao field for installation of the umbilicals that will connect it to the production wells.
Offshore Indonesia, Premier’s Gajah Baru project is progressing ahead of schedule. The central processing platform topsides were installed on the jacket last week, as was the bridge link to the wellhead platform.
Elsewhere on block A, Premier says engineer/procure/construct/install technical bids have been received for the Anoa Phase IV development, designed to provide additional compression capacity on the Anoa platform.
Front-end engineering design has been completed for the facilities and pipelines for the Pelikan and Naga fields. These projects are expected to be sanctioned this fall.
On the Tuna block, a well on the Gajah Laut Utara prospect was plugged and abandoned in June with oil and gas shows.
The Ocean General rig has since transferred to Belut Laut, spudding a well on the Belut Laut prospect, which will provide an independent test of the petroleum system on the Tuna acreage. Results are due in August.
