Statoil's Veslefrikk field is producing normally after being shut down since July 23. Production was halted because an internal crack was discovered on one of the lifeboats on the Veslefrikk A platform. The lifeboat was repaired, but the number of personnel on Veslefrikk is still reduced because the skid boats are out of operation.

The field came back onstream, August 8, with an output of 35,000 b/d of oil.

The Huldra field, which is remotely operated from Veslefrikk, can start producing again as soon as the Heimdal platform is ready to receive the gas. That is expected to happen later today.

Huldra produces 6 MMcm/d of gas. Gas from Huldra is piped to Heimdal (operated by Hydro) for processing.
