MEUDON, France ExxonMobil Guyana has awarded Vallourec a fourth order for line pipe under their long-term agreement signed in 2021.

The latest package will be for the recently sanctioned deepwater Whiptail project on the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. Vallourec will supply more than 180 km of line pipe, including X80 grade, an in-house development said to combine high levels of strength with resistance to service conditions.

Following this and the earlier Yellowtail, Gas-to-Energy and Uaru orders, the company has won orders for close to 700 km of line pipe under the long-term agreement since December 2021. Vallourec will use its Jeceaba (Minas Gerais) mill for the latest consignment.

In Dammam, Saudi Arabia, the company has opened its new Tubular Management Services (TMS) Yard, dedicated entirely to Saudi Aramco. The two companies signed a 10-year agreement in 2022 covering provision mainly of casing and tubing and services for Aramco’s drilling operations.

The new 38,000-sq-m pipe management yard is within the larger Vallourec Saudi Arabia site and includes a new 848-sq-m inspection facility. The complex as a whole provides heat treatment, non-destructive testing and VAM threading.
