LONDON —Chariot Energy has signed a pipeline tie-in agreement with Morocco’s the Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM).
This grants access to the Maghreb Europe Gas Pipeline (GME), owned and operated by ONHYM, which runs from eastern Morocco through to Tangiers on the north coast and across the Mediterranean Sea to southern Spain.
It will allow gas from the Chariot-operated Anchois gas development in the Lixus license off western Morocco to be transported via the Maghreb system to different offtakers.

Anchois has material gas resources, low subsurface risk and can be developed through conventional technology, Chariot said.
Pierre Raillard, Chariot's head of gas business and Morocco country director, said, “The Anchois gas project is a highly strategic asset given the continued volatility of global energy markets, and combined with its proximity to the international GME pipeline, we are well placed to bring gas online as quickly as possible."
