MAROUSSI, Greece – Subsea 7 has contracted Corinth Pipeworks (CPW) to provide High Frequency Welding (HFW) steel pipes for Okea’s single-well Hasselmus gas tieback to the Draugen platform in the Norwegian Sea.
This will be Okea’s first subsea development through the facility, which was previously operated by Norske Shell.
Hasselmus, 7 km (4.3 mi) north-west of the platform, should come onstream in late 2023.
CPW will manufacture and coat the 10 km (6.2 mi) of 12-in. HFW linepipe at its plant in Thisvi, Greece for delivery to Subsea 7’s spoolbase in Vigra, Norway.
Here fabrication will take place for subsequent offshore reel-lay installation.
CPW and Subsea 7 have collaborated to develop an optimized longer-length pipe solution to help speed delivery times.
