LONDON – Petrofac has secured an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract for gas field activity in Bahrain.

The scope of work includes fiber optic cabling and high-pressure gas pipelines, which will run through sections onshore and offshore below the seabed.

These will support gas supply to the Kingdom and will be designed for full interchangeability.

Petrofac has been present in Bahrain since 2015, when Tatweer Petroleum contracted the company to supply a new gas dehydration facility.

This led to further work involving engineering, procurement, and construction of several gas wells that had to be connected to the facility.

In June 2020, Tayweer awarded the company a further EPCC contract for an upstream gas project that includes well hook-ups, pipelines, and tie-ins for various new gas wells on the Bahrain field.
