Sept. 14, 2021
Subsea 7 has contracted Corinth Pipeworks to manufacture high frequency welding steel pipes for Aker BP’s Kobra East and Gekko project in the Norwegian North Sea.
The company will manufacture and coat 9 km (6 mi) of 16-in. HFW pipes in ultra-long lengths at its facility in Thisvi, Greece. The pipes will be delivered directly to Subsea 7’s spoolbase in Vigra, Norway, for fabrication and subsequent reel-lay installation.Â
The KEG field development involves an 8-km (5-mi) subsea tieback to the Alvheim FPSO.
