LONDON – INEOS FPS has rescheduled the planned summer shutdown of the Forties Pipeline System in the UK central North Sea to spring 2021.
Originally, this had been due to take place from June 16, 2020. Initially, INEOS could not specify a new date, but the majority of the pipeline’s users requested a postponement into next year.
The company took its decision in light of the UK government-imposed restrictions concerning the coronavirus and to provide clarity to its customers and the UK oil and gas industry as a whole.
It now hopes that customers and the supply chain can plan for the event with greater certainty, and it will communicate the exact start date for the shutdown as soon as is practicable.
