DELFT, the Netherlands – Allseas suspended pipelay activities this weekend on the Nord Stream 2 gas line through the Baltic Sea.
The company took this step in anticipation of the US’ enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), restricting commercial activities supporting projects involving Russian companies (in this case Gazprom).
Allseas said it would proceed in accordance with the legislation’s wind-down provision and would await guidance concerning regulatory, technical, and environmental clarifications from the relevant US authority.
