LONDON — Following receipt of Moroccan governmental and regulatory approvals, Energean has completed a farm-in to two offshore licenses.

The company now has operated interests of 45% and 37.5% in the Lixus and Rissana licenses, with previous operator Chariot retaining 30% and 37.5% stakes. State-owned ONHYM maintains a 25% share in each concession.

Stena Drilling has signed a contract with the partners to deploy the Stena Forth drillship for the Anchois-East appraisal and development well this summer on Lixus, plus an optional well.

The drilling/testing campaign will further appraise the proven gas sands, also targeting a further 11 Bcm of undrilled prospective resources as the partners seek to expand the Anchois gas development beyond 1 Tcf.
