OSLO, Norway – Equinor Energy has approval from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use a new four-slot subsea template on the Visund field in the northern North Sea, northeast of Gullfaks.
Production started in 1999: the field has been developed via a semisubmersible integrated quarters, drilling and processing platform (Visund A), and well templates for seabed production.
PSA has also sanctioned the use of the semisubmersibleSonga Equinox for production drilling on the Troll field using the Controlled Mud Level method, formerly known as dual gradient drilling.
The rig will drill and complete production well 31/2-O-21 AYH.
