HOUSTON– Erin Energy Corp. has finalized its plan to spud the Oyo-9 well offshore Nigeria by the end of this month, using the sixth-generation drillship Pacific Bora.
The well should lift production from the Oyo field by 6-7,000 b/d of oil, doubling Erin’s current production from theOyo-8 well.
Coincidental with completion of Oyo-9, Erin will also tieback the Oyo-7 well to the FPSOArmada Perdana, which could add a further 2,000 b/d.
Depending on available funding, the rig contract with Pacific Drilling could be extended to one or two wells in the prolific Miocene geological zone in OML 120.
