Transocean semisub to drill Dvalin production wells

DEA Norge has contracted the semisubmersible Transocean Arctic to drill four production wells at the Dvalin field in the Norwegian Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway– DEA Norge has contracted the semisubmersible Transocean Arcticto drill four production wells at the Dvalin field in the Norwegian Sea.

Drilling will start in mid-2019 and is estimated to last 340 days. The $68-million contract includes options for additional wells.

Dvalin is the first operated field development project for DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG in Norway. DEA Norge is operator of license PL435 with a 55% share. Partners are Petoro (35%) and Edison (10%).

The Dvalin field is in PL435, blocks 6507/7/9 and 6507/8 in the Norwegian Sea, about 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of Heidrun and 290 km (180 mi) from Nyhamna in mid-Norway. Recoverable resources are 18.2 bcm of natural gas. First production is scheduled for 2020.
