OSLO, Norway –Songa Offshore ASA reports the Santos exercised its option to extend the contract on the semisubmersible rig Songa Mercur.
The initial contract was for nine months starting July 22, 2007, and now runs to July 2008.
The rig is F&G 9500 design semisubmersible drilling unit, capable of operating in water depths up to 1,200 ft (366 m).
