SHARJAH, UAE -- Lamprell has confirmed that National Drilling Co. (NDC) Abu Dhabi has exercised options for two further new jackups, with a combined value of over $333 million.
As before, the additional rigs will be fully outfitted and equipped, LeTourneau-designed, self-elevating Mobile Offshore Drilling Platforms of a Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design.
They will each have triangular hulls with three 310-ft (94-m) truss type legs per rig. Each leg will incorporate an electro-mechanical rack and pinion elevating system, enabling drilling in up to 200 ft (61 m) of water with a rated drilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,144 m).
Deliveries are scheduled in 4Q 2014 and 1Q 2015. Both will be built at Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility.
