CALGARY, Canada – Canadian Natural Resources (CNR) says it has ordered long-lead equipment for its first exploration drilling program offshore South Africa.
The earliest potential drilling window is late 2013 or early 2014. The block, which the company was recently awarded, contains potential 1 Bbbl structures. CNR aims to bring in a partner for the well, and claims to have attracted a high level of interest.
Offshore Cote d’Ivoire, the company is working on an eight-well infill drilling campaign atEspoir field. The rig has arrived and is expected start drilling next year. CNR is targeting first oil during 1Q 2013, ramp up production to 6,500 boe/d, and offset natural declines from the field.
Finally, in the UK northern North Sea, the company is looking to resume drilling at theNinian field complex during 2Q 2013.
