LONDON – Tullow Oil has discovered gas in the Vincent prospect in the Dutch North Sea.
Exploration drilling started last October, and the well was drilled to a TD of 4,027 m (13,212 ft). It encountered a 72-m (236-ft) gas column with net pay of 25 m (82 ft) and flowed 64 MMcf/d (1.8 MMcm/d) on test.
Tullow says the result has opened the under-explored Netherlands Carboniferous sub-crop play that has proven successful in the UKNorth Sea.
