GE opens UK wireline complex

GE Oil & Gas has opened a new wireline manufacturing and headquarters complex in southern England.

FARNBOROUGH, UK -- GE Oil & Gas has opened a new wireline manufacturing and headquarters complex in southern England.

The 56,000-sq ft (5,202-sq m) facility at QinetiQ’s Cody Technology Park in Farnborough, brings together the GE Oil & Gas—Downhole Technology design engineering, manufacturing, and testing operations.

This division provides oilfield services companies with solutions designed to measure and understand the condition of an asset (formation or completion) and the flow of hydrocarbons from a well.

Elsewhere in the UK, GE Oil & Gas has more than 2,400 employees based at manufacturing, service and test facilities in Aberdeen and Montrose in Scotland; Cramlington, north of Newcastle in northeast England; and at Nailsea and Farnborough in southern England.
