Transocean reports new offshore water depth drilling record

Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) reports that its ultra-deepwater drillship Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 has set a new world record for the deepest water depth by an offshore drilling rig of 10,385 ft (3,165 m) while working for ONGC offshore India.

ZUG, Switzerland– Transocean Ltd. (NYSE: RIG) reports that its ultra-deepwater drillship Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 has set a new world record for the deepest water depth by an offshore drilling rig of 10,385 ft (3,165 m) while working for ONGC offshore India.
This milestone surpasses Transocean’s prior world record set by theKG1’s sister rig, Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2, of 10,194 ft (3,107 m) of water in 2011 while working for Reliance in India.
