TEL AVIV, Israel – Delek Group (TASE: DLEKG; OTCQX: DGRLY) has found significant signs of natural gas at the Karish 1 exploration well offshore Israel.

The well, operated by Noble Energy Mediterranean, was drilled in the Alon C/366 license area. It has reached a final depth of 4,790 m (15,715 ft) below sea level.

Depth of the gas-bearing strata appears to be about 60 m (197 ft). The information came to light as a result of logging-while-drilling.

Stabilization and preservation measures have been implemented on the borehole to facilitate a logging wireline, including electrical, seismic and magnetic tests, and tests of the gas composition, rocks and liquids in the reservoir.
