    Maersk Giant remains offshore southern Norway to drill Talisman well

    Talisman Energy has authorization to drill a wildcat well close to the Gyda field in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

    OSLO, Norway – Talisman Energy has authorization to drill a wildcat well close to the Gyda field in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

    TheMaersk Giant will drill well 2/1-16 S in production license 299, following clearance from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate. This will be the second well on the permit, which was awarded in 2003.

    The rig is P&A’ing a dry hole for Dong E&P Norge, 5 km (3 mi) northwest of theTrym field in the same region.
