STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The jackup Maersk Guardian has spudded an exploration well on the Carlsberg prospect in the Norwegian North Sea for Lundin Norway.
The 7/4-3 well location is 24 km (14.9 mi) north of the Lundin-operatedBrynhild field development, and 22 km (14 mi) east of BG’s Everest field on the UK side of the North Sea median line.
Main aim of the well is to prove hydrocarbons in Upper Triassic and Upper Cretaceous reservoirs. Lundin estimates Carlsberg’s prospective resources at 67 MMboe. Drilling is estimated to take about 65 days.
