The semisubmersible Songa Trym is preparing to drill a wildcat well for Statoil in the Norwegian Sea, following authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

STAVANGER, Norway – The semisubmersible Songa Trym is preparing to drill a wildcat well for Statoil in the Norwegian Sea, following authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
It will drill well 6507/3-10 in license PL159 C.
The rig has just finished a well for Statoil in the region, designed to delineate the 2000 Falk oil discovery in PL128. The appraisal well, drilled 650 m (2,132 ft) to the west of the original location in 350 m (1,148 ft) of water, was dry.
