HOUSTON – The US offshore drilling rig count is 24, unchanged from last week, and down five rigs year over year, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of May 27, 2016.
The USGulf of Mexico rig count was also flat over the past week, remaining at 23 units, according to the report.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was flat week-over-week at 404. But that number was down by 471 rigs from last year’s figure of 875.
Compared to this time last year, oil rigs are down 330, gas rigs down 138, and miscellaneous rigs down three.
