Two Transocean rigs get long-term contracts offshore India, Brazil

Transocean has secured drilling contracts with a combined incremental backlog of about $745 million, according to the company’s latest fleet status report.

STEINHAUSEN  Transocean has secured drilling contracts with a combined incremental backlog of about $745 million, according to the company’s latest fleet status report.

Offshore India, the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 drillship has a 21-month contract at a day rate of $347,500, while Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 secured a 60-day extension at $348,000/d.

Deepwater Aquila  drillship has a three-year contract offshore Brazil at $448,000/d.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, Deepwater Invictus was awarded a 20-day contract and has already completed the well.

As of October 18, Transocean’s total backlog was about $9.4 billion.
