Trillion Energy International has issued an update on its current and future drilling programs at the SASB gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
VANCOUVER, Canada — Trillion Energy International has issued an update on its current and future drilling programs at the SASB gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
The recent Alapli-2 well has provided 32 m of total gas pay in the A, B, C and D sands of the Akcakoca Member, 22.7 m thicker than the offset well Alapli-1. And Alapli-2 should enter production shortly.
Trillion now plans new perforations of existing wells and will look to revise its future drilling program to optimize capex.
It expects to start the next phase of drilling in mid-2024, involving a combination of sidetrack, long reach directional and stratigraphic exploration wells.
The focus over the remainder of this year will be on field analysis to determine how to maximize gas production and determine which gas pools require additional wells in the next drilling phase; completing reprocessing and remapping of 3D seismic to delineate new stratigraphic exploration; and structuring the next drilling phase to maximize returns on deployed capital.
For the 2024 program, five sidetrack wells will likely be drilled first, all already engineered with long lead items purchased., followed by various stratigraphic exploration prospect wells.
The company’s contract for GSP’s Uranus jackup allowed for up to seven well operations. Trillion has been negotiating a new contract for the 2024 SASB drilling program, and the Uranus will soon return to port in Constanta on the Romanian Black Sea coast.
