HOUSTON – Borr Drilling has spudded the first well of a new campaign at the Etame field offshore Gabon, operated by VAALCO Energy.
The Etame 8H-ST development well, drilled from the Etame platform, is a side track of an existing well, targeting Gamba interval hydrocarbons not previously produced by prior wells.
It should be completed next month, with production anticipated later in 1Q 2022. This is the first of four planned wells.
VAALCO CEO George Maxwell said: “The objective of the drilling campaign is to increase production by 7,000 to 8,000/d of oil gross, which would have a material impact on VAALCO’s net production and cashflow given it’s 63.6% interest in the license.”
